Reading it almost feels a little old. Some of the technology in the book almost sounds outdated and some of the pictures (Floppy disc, clunky laptop) make it feel older than it is. Includes some newer technology, like the Di Vinci Surgical System. I like the screenshots they included on some of the pages for the computer systems you'll see in a hospital.

So much easier to type in the search bar what your looking for inside the Ebook and find, rather than flipping skimming pages when you can't find it in the index

This is a very simple introduction to computers in medicine geared to an undergraduate student who knows how to turn a computer on, and not much more. It does deal with information technology, but at such a superficial level as to be useless to anyone already in medicine. Indeed at a couple of points in the text it addresses the reader as "future healthcare professional". If you are a current healthcare professional trying to bring medicine into the 21st century, this book is not for you. It will not help you understand EHR's, e-prescribing, networks or true security concerns.

I purchased this book for a college class and so far I like the book it's thin, the chapters are of a short but decent length. The first chapter if you already know a lot about computers is kind of boring, but other than that great book. Book arrived in better condition than expected.

thanks

Right book

Gives a broad overview. My professor chose this as it was 200+ pages over the previous textbook that was 600+ pages. The chapters are usually less than 20 pages each, quick to read, and it is pretty current.

I'm so disappointed!! If I knew the book would come so damaged I would have bought a new one. The description of the book said it's acceptable yet they should have put instead bad shape!!!
